Class Description:

Being a great actor is hard, but it is not complicated. In this course for adults interested in stage or film acting, John Armstrong will demystify the acting process by disseminating the approaches of the great acting teachers into clear techniques for scene study that will immediately impact your performance, no matter your level of experience or proficiency. 


This class will:

  • address the physical foundations of the actor's instrument: body, breath, voice and language techniques. 

  • challenge you with exercises and material appropriate for your level of experience

  • provide a framework for choosing scenes appropriate to age and type

  • give you strong technique and greater confidence when performing on stage or screen


Materials/Resources Needed:

  • Face mask

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Pen/pencil, dedicated notebook


Vaccination Status:

All students must certify that they are fully vaccinated, with the second dose being administered at least 14 days prior to the start of the class.
